The Collector's Edition Tier is Now Available!

Announcing The Impact of Iwata: Collector's Edition! In recognition of the rapid response that propelled this project to full funding in less than two days (and has us nearly hitting Stretch Goal #2 already as well), we've put together an even more packed package to reward serious supporters!
If you like what you see and want to switch over to the new Collector's Edition Tier from your current tier, here's how to change your reward selection through your web browser or how to change your reward selection through the Kickstarter app.
(Note that Collector's Edition extra items will also be sent to supporters who pledge to higher tiers like The Backer Tier and The Artist Tier. If you've already backed at one of those levels, you're now getting bonus stuff! You don't have to do anything different!)
With the Collector's Edition Tier, you can get all the things! Supporters at this level will get the digital version of the book and an autographed hardcover copy, plus several extra items to show our appreciation for going the extra mile with your pledge!
The first new item is a Japanese-style 'obi' dust jacket, which will add an extra touch of class to your physical copy of the book. You may have seen obi jackets like the one we're planning included with Fangamer's Legends of Localization books! Similar to those, the Impact of Iwata obi jacket will unfold to have a full timeline of Mr. Iwata's career printed on the inside. Here's an example of what the one included with Fangamer's EarthBound book looked like:
Hitting our first Stretch Goal unlocked one double-sided wall poster that will be sent to everyone whose pledge includes a physical book (so that's all tiers $29 and above), but for the Collector's Edition Tier we're going to double that! You'll get two double-sided wall posters, so you don't have to pick just one side to display. You can proudly hang both sides on your wall! (We're still keeping the reverse side of the poster a secret for now, though!)
Here's something Shesez of Boundary Break will appreciate: The bookmark we'll also be including with Collector's Edition packages will feature the full standing art of Mr. Iwata – never before seen, since every time we've used the art before now, we only used the upper half, leaving the lower half hidden beyond the boundary of visibility! It's a simple thing, but then bookmarks themselves are simple things, so it's a nice match.
Finally, the addition I'm personally most excited about: a complete set of 16 different art print postcards! Every one of the 16 great chapter introduction illustrations will be brought out of the book itself and given its own set-apart spotlight as an art print. You can display your favorites -- giving an extra boost to your EarthBound collection, perhaps, or your array of Kirby merch -- or, if you want to, you can mail one or more of them to friends! They're functional postcards too!
Just six examples of the postcards' art is shown here, but there will be 10 more beyond these, for a full set of 16. (We don't want to spill the beans on all the different illustrations before you have the chance to see them within the book for the first time!)
All of that makes up the Collector's Edition package, plus any further extras unlocked by Stretch Goals! (The way things are moving, we might hit several more of those!) This tier is set at $64 -- a very nice Nintendo-ish number that also happens to fall directly halfway between the $49 and $79 tiers that have been active here since our campaign's launch day.
Once again, if you've previously pledged and you'd like to now switch over to the new Collector's Edition, you can do so freely. No matter what level of support you're able to show to this first-ever NF book project, though, you are appreciated! I really just wanted to do something extra special here, since I'm still amazed that we hit our first goal so fast! I hope you like what we've whipped up. :)

New Pledge Tier Coming on Monday!

Once again, honestly everyone, I'm amazed at how quickly this campaign continues to grow! We had nearly hit Stretch Goal #1 when I last wrote an update less than three days ago, and now we're already halfway toward hitting Stretch Goal #2 as well!
With how much positive support this project has received already, we've been working behind the scenes to assemble an even more packed-full package that we're planning to add as a new pledge tier starting on Monday, June 12. (That's three days away as of this writing.) It'll add an extra touch of class to the book itself, as well as include new items to extend the Impact of Iwata experience further beyond the book's borders!
So have a great weekend, everyone, and then make plans to check back here for the full reveal of the new tier on Monday!

One Week In + Stretch Goal #2!

Hello again, Impact of Iwata backers! I gave you all a break from updates here for a few days so you could all get back to playing Tears of the Kingdom uninterrupted, but I have to jump back in today to get everyone up to speed!
Our campaign has been live for just one week as of this writing, but we've already cleared the minimum funding goal and we're now on the verge of hitting the first Stretch Goal as well! We're only a few hundred dollars shy of unlocking the promised free wall poster for everyone who orders a physical copy of the book. We should hit that mark officially very soon!
It's looking like this is going to happen! Mr. Iwata will once again be able to grace everyone's walls. (And remember that the poster will be double-sided, too! The reverse side is a secret to everybody!
Since Stretch Goal #1 is very nearly done, let's reveal #2!
If this second Stretch Goal is met, the book itself will be given an upgrade! We'll invest in an extra snazzy cover for every copy, giving the book an added degree of visual pop and +37% Wow Factor™!
It's hard to convey "cover will look more beautiful" in words, so here's an image of a different book with a similar gloss effect to the one we'll apply if Goal #2 is reached. The book will shine, catching the light and looking spectacular!
Thanks again for all your support, everyone, and for jumping in to become a backer within the campaign's first week! I'll be back with another update soon. (But you've probably got time to go clear a few more Shrines between now and then.)

Victory Achieved! + First Stretch Goal

You did it!
Thanks to all of you early Backers jumping in so quickly, "The Impact of Iwata" has been fully funded in less than two days! We're blown away!
Because we've got so much time left between now and the scheduled end of the campaign, we've got plenty of time to work together and push to reach stretch goals. Here's the first one:
The "Thank You, Mr. Iwata" issue of Nintendo Force Magazine we published back in 2015 didn't ship to subscribers by itself – it was accompanied by a wall poster packed in alongside each issue! The poster gathered together all the separate illustrations created by the talented Smashified art team into one great-looking collage. So, let's bring it back! If our campaign funding total hits $39,000, everyone who orders a physical copy of the book will also get a reprint of this great poster!
But that's not all! Just like a driving motivation to make the book itself is "no more sharing the page count" with content unrelated to Mr. Iwata, so too will this wall poster be upgraded so he's not sharing poster space either! The original version of the poster was double-sided, but had promotional art for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer printed on the reverse side. This new version will instead have brand-new Iwata art on the opposite side: a collection of the great chapter intro illustrations being made for the book itself! (We'll be able to share a full look at that side in a future update!)
With how quickly things have moved so far, we're already cooking up some additional stretch goals as well. But we'd also love to hear your thoughts! What kinds of goals would motivate you the most to get out on the streets sharing the word about "The Impact of Iwata" even farther and wider? Jump into the comments and let us know!

A Great First 24 Hours!

Hey there, Impact of Iwata backers! Thank you all for being the first to jump in and support this project.
As of this writing the campaign has been active for just a few minutes over 24 hours, and within the first day we've climbed past 400 backers and $20,000 pledged! That's a wonderful fast response, and I'm thrilled this book is resonating with so many people so quickly.
Please do what you can to spread the word! Tweet, share, post . . . all the social media stuff. Call your Nintendo-loving friends and family. Shout from the rooftops! Since we're on pace to hit our initial funding goal of $29,000 so quickly, we're already prepping stretch goals – and hitting those will enhance the book for everyone!
Thanks again for your speedy support! Let's keep this momentum going!
